Commissioning of the high-pressure long-distance nickel slurry pipeline in Indonesia

The nickel slurry pipeline project in Qingmeibang, Indonesia has been successfully completed. Located in the Morowali and Konawe regions of Sulawesi Island, the project features two parallel DN610 high-pressure pipelines. The two pipelines, with wall thickness of 15.9mm and 12.7mm respectively, will have the capacity to transport 120,000 tons of MHP nickel slurry annually. This development supports the local new energy industry by ensuring a steady supply of raw materials and contributes to the economic growth and industrial advancement of the Belt and Road country by completing the local industrial chain from nickel mining to new energy material production.

During construction, the project team faced technical challenges due to rugged mountainous terrain, pipeline welding and alignment difficulties which delayed mine tunnel deliveries. The management team quickly adjusted its strategy, adopting a "spot-insertion and segmented operation" approach. They completed pipeline prefabrication and preparatory work in advance, allowing immediate shift-based work once operational areas were released. After five months of concentrated effort, the pipeline was fully connected on schedule, with ensured quality and safety standards. The project earned high praise from the client and laid a solid foundation for the mine's smooth operation in the future.

Groundbreaking ceremony for the Benguérir Mine Expansion Project in Morocco

The Benguérir Mine Expansion Project in Morocco recently commenced civil construction, marking the project's full entry into the construction phase. As a key initiative in upgrading Morocco's mining industry, the project covers the BME and LME core mining areas. Once completed, it will establish a material transportation network connecting the mines and stockyards, providing critical infrastructure support for local mining capacity enhancement.

Prior to construction, the project team completed geological surveys, optimized project plans, and mobilized localized resources, laying a solid groundwork for smooth commencement. Moving forward, the team will continue to advance the construction schedule while ensuring quality and safety, aiming to complete and commission the project as soon as possible.
