On June 8, the Diamond Hospital—part of the Guyana Regional Hospital Cluster Project constructed by China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd. (CAMC) under an EPC contract—was officially handed over and opened to the public.

The handover ceremony was attended by Guyana President Mohamed Irfaan Ali, Prime Minister Mark Phillips, Vice-President Bharrat Jagdeo, Minister of Health Frank Anthony, Chinese Ambassador Yang Yang, Commercial Counselor Li Hanqing, and representatives from the Chinese medical team and Chinese enterprises in Guyana.

At the event, CAMC Deputy General Manager Yan Hailu presented the symbolic golden key to Minister Anthony, marking the project's completion. Yan expressed gratitude to the Guyanese government, the Chinese Embassy in Guyana, China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation, China Construction Bank, and partner Sinopharm International for their support. He noted that CAMC will continue contributing to Guyana's healthcare development through its expertise in design, consulting, and resource integration.

Following the ceremony, President Ali and Ambassador Yang toured the facility. Yan also introduced the upcoming West Demerara Regional Hospital project, recently signed by the company. President Ali expressed high expectations for future cooperation and encouraged further contributions to Guyana's healthcare sector.

The Guyana Regional Hospital Cluster Project is set to become the country's most comprehensive medical initiative, featuring modern equipment, full departmental coverage, and wide regional reach. The project aligns with CAMC's commitment to the Belt and Road Initiative and the "Healthy Silk Road" under China's 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25).
