Sinomach Group continues to deliver strong results in its overseas construction efforts, leveraging its resources and technical advantages to ensure the high-standard implementation of major international engineering projects. Recent progress across several key initiatives is providing fresh momentum for industrial and economic development in partner countries.
Bolivia's first state-owned soybean processing plant officially begins operations
In Bolivia, the first phase of the San Julián soybean by-product processing plant—built by China Machinery Engineering Corporation—has reached a major milestone. The project's core component, the crude oil production line, successfully completed a 72-hour continuous trial run and has now officially started production.
As Bolivia's first state-owned soybean processing facility and a cornerstone of the country's industrialization strategy, the plant is designed to process 1,000 tons of soybeans per day. Once fully operational, it will meet 76% of Bolivia's edible oil demand, significantly enhancing national food security and driving industrial development.
During the trial run, the system smoothly reached key achievements including equipment synchronization, process validation, and capacity ramp-up. Thanks to precise coordination by the technical team, the line operated at 70% of its design capacity, yielding over 300 tons of unrefined edible oil, 1,400 tons of high-protein soybean pulp, and approximately 30 tons of soybean curd sheets.
The project will now begin trial production in the refining and filling workshops, with the goal of achieving stable output of refined edible oil and packaged products as quickly as possible. This is expected to contribute to price stabilization and improve the overall efficiency of Bolivia's edible oil supply chain.
Core facilities of Türkiye's Lake Tuz underground gas storage expansion successfully ignited
In Türkiye, the Lake Tuz underground natural gas storage expansion project—developed by Sinomach's subsidiary China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd.—has reached a new milestone. The successful first ignition of the No. 1 gas engine marks the transition into full-scale commissioning and performance testing of core facilities.
This ignition firmly validates the quality of the installation and system integration work. It also confirms the operational reliability and stability of the storage facility, paving the way for upcoming compressor linkage testing and full process commissioning.
Located in Aksaray Province, the project involves expanding the existing facility with 40 new salt cavern storage units, boosting Türkiye's gas storage capacity from 1 billion to 5 billion cubic meters. Upon completion, it will be the world's largest underground salt cavern gas storage site, playing a vital role in significantly improving Türkiye's energy resilience while helping alleviate ongoing shortages in oil and gas supply.
