Zhang Xiaolun attends opening ceremony of ASEAN-GCC-China Economic Forum

On May 27, the opening ceremony of the ASEAN-GCC-China Economic Forum was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Zhang Xiaolun, Chairman of Sinomach Group, was invited to attend the ceremony and participate in related activities.

In his speech, Chinese Premier Li Qiang emphasized that the successful convening of the ASEAN-GCC-China Summit has opened a new chapter in trilateral cooperation. Centered on the theme "Creating Opportunities and Sharing Prosperity", the summit hosted in-depth discussions that had achieved significant developments for all parties. Premier Li noted the deep historical ties among China, ASEAN, and the GCC countries, adding that this strong foundation will lead to even greater achievements in the future.

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim also addressed the forum, highlighting China's important role as a partner to both ASEAN and GCC countries. He stressed China's invaluable role in regional economic development, peace, and justice. He reaffirmed ASEAN's commitment to strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation with China and the GCC in fields such as trade, investment, and infrastructure—fostering prosperity and stability on a regional and global scale.

As part of the forum, Zhang Xiaolun participated in a closed-door meeting with Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. Zhang introduced the development of Sinomach's business in Malaysia and engaged in fruitful discussions with Malaysian officials and business leaders to further deepen bilateral economic and trade cooperation.

During his stay, Zhang also attended a symposium for Sinomach's subsidiaries operating in Malaysia, including China Machinery Engineering Corporation and China National Electric Engineering Co., Ltd. After being briefed on their local market performance and development, Zhang extended his heartfelt thanks to frontline employees for their ongoing dedication. 

Zhang emphasized that, in the face of new global challenges, all Sinomach enterprises should adopt a broader strategic vision, work collaboratively to build on the Group's strengths, and serve national interests. He called for accelerated transformation, enhanced adaptability to local markets, and strengthened brand development—urging greater localization, improved competitiveness, and deeper contributions to the sustainable development of regional economies and societies.
